I write poetry in Urdu, Punjabi and English languages. From among the poets from the East and the West, I’m inspired by the poetry of Naziri, Rumi, Mus’hafi, Ghalib, Iqbal, Yazdani Jallundhri, Faiz, Majeed Amjad, Muneer Niazi, Hafeez Tayeb, Khalid Ahmed, Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi, Zahid Hassan, Jahid ul Huq, Robert Frost, Reiner Maria Rilke, Leonard Cohen, Michael Ondaatje, Erin Moure & Robert Priest.
Some of my Urdu poems have been translated into German and English. Love, society and spirituality are the recurring themes of my poetry. Three of my poetry collections have been published:

Abhi Ik Khaa’b Rehta Hai (A Dream; Yet to Go!) Urdu poetry collection-published in 1992 & 2007.

Neeli Raat di Chhup (The Blue Silence of Night) a collection of Punjabi poems & ghazals-published in 2002.

Gehri Shaam Ki Bailein (The Vines of a Deep Evening) Urdu poems and ghazals-published in 2007.

The collections of my short stories, literary interviews, English poems and translations are in the pipeline.
I’ve been editing a literary magazine “Fanoos” and a socio-political magazine ” Bazgasht” in Pakistan. I’ve also worked with the Voice of Germany (Radio Deutsche Welle, Cologne) in Germany as a producer.
Presently, I’m serving as the secretary of ‘Halqa e Arbab e Zauq, Toronto-a literary circle mainly for the writers from the Indian sub-continent.
